Dr. T. S. Kler - Cardiologist Pacemaker Specialist

Dr. T. S. Kler is a renowned cardiologist pacemaker specialist in India with an exemplary career graph. He has performed more than 25,000 coronary, renal, carotid & and peripheral angioplasties. In the field of electrophysiology, he is a pioneer. With an extensive experience of 30 years, he is the one who established the first Electrophysiology department in India at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute. He started the Radio Frequency Ablations program at Escorts in 1993.

He completed his MBBS from Medical College, Patiala. He finished his MD in Medicine and DM in Cardiology from PGI Chandigarh. He had implanted the first heart failure device (Biventricular Pacemaker) and Combo Device in Southeast Asia. His career graph holds the record of more than 2000 cardiac diagnostic angiograms and around 300 angioplasties every year. He has extensive work experience at PSRI Hospital, New Delhi as Chairman- of PSRI Heart Institute. He is presently working at Fortis Heart & Vascular Institute as the Chairman.

He has a record of many firsts, like, he was the first doctor in India to implant an ICD, CRT-P & CRT-D, and he did the HIS bundle pacing in India for the very first time in 2015. RF Ablation cardiac devices implantation programme started in many Centers due to his first initiative in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. He has published 150 national and international journal articles. He has been on the editorial board of the Indian Heart Journal. Dr. Kler is invited as a guest faculty to various conferences, both national & and international, like HRS and ACC. He has been a guest faculty in the USA, France, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Singapore.

As a famous Indian heart surgeon, Dr. Kler was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006 for his outstanding contribution to the field of Clinical & Preventive Cardiology in the World. He is a lifetime member of the Indian Medical Association, CSI, ICC, API, IHRS, and Heart Rhythm Society. He has the Fellowships of the Royal College of Physicians, UK, and American College of Cardiology. In 2005, he received the highest honor with the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honor in India. The President of India honored him for his contribution to the field of medicine.
