Types of Dermal Fillers

There are mainly two broad types of dermal fillers:
•    Naturally-derived fillers: This category of dermal fillers (hyaluronic acid is the most widely used) has a much lower risk or side effect that can cause an allergic reaction to the skin, however other reactions can occur.
Results for natural dermal fillers are obtained immediately, however, they will only last from about three to 18 months (in very rare cases, up to two years). That's because these fillers break down over time and can sometimes change the expected results.
Hyaluronic acid, one of the highly used natural dermal fillers, is found in your body. High concentrations of this substance can be found in the soft connective tissues and in the fluids which surround your eyes. Hyaluronic acid is extracted from the suitable body part and is then reformulated.
•    Synthetic fillers: These types of dermal fillers last longer than naturally-derived dermal fillers and are more permanent in comparison to natural ones as they do not dissipate. However, the wrinkles may start to spring up if you do not care enough about your face and subject it to excessive sun damage. This can be prevented by using a suitable sunscreen.
