Planning was the first step in the design process. Looking at it from an architectural standpoint, the foyer space is structurally rich. We have a lot of creative leeway in the lobby's circulation space and with the saturation of visual information. The foyer and mezzanine level both contribute significantly to the ground floor's capacity. An impressive number of columns in the lobby serve as sturdy structural components, rising almost ten meters from the basement to the upper level.
Meanwhile, the ground-floor gallery area that leads to the basement levels is connected to the escalators that go to those levels. What this means is that it has opened the door to visual communication and the ability to see the place from a single vantage point. The design team opted for a comprehensive arrangement because of the building's rich history. The interior lighting systems, as well as the structures, seats, and countertops, are all created using a parametric approach.
By enveloping the whole area like a shell, fluid surfaces become the design feature itself. Lighting surfaces are generated at certain places along the shell's parametric flow, which also includes the interior. Precast material is shaped into panels that do not repeat in order to create the surfaces. The foyer floor is constructed with a marble vortex that expands and shrinks algorithmically. The hydrotherapy pools for men and women were designed similarly, using the same principles as the lobby.
