Prof. Ege Can Serefoglu - Penile Implant Surgeon in Istanbul Turkey

Prof. Ege Can Serefoglu, a penile implant surgeon in Istanbul Turkey, was born in İskenderun in 1979. He received his medical degree from the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2003 after his graduation. He started his specialized studies at the Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine's Department of General Surgery the same year. He became a urologist in April 2009 after continuing his specialty at the Department of Urology at Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital after June 2004. 

The chance to publish his research on erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation in national and international scientific publications was given to Dr. Serefoglu during his time as a specialist in penile implant operation in Turkey. While he was pursuing his education at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine and the Radboud University Department of Urology in the Netherlands, he conducted studies on pediatric urology.

In 2010, after completing two years of service as a State Service Obligee at Mardin Kızıltepe State Hospital, he began his study in andrology at Tulane University School of Medicine in France. In 2014, Dr. Serefoglu, one of the top penile surgeons in Turkey was bestowed the position of Associate Professor of Urology. He had previously served as a Urology specialist at Ankara Medicana International Hospital (2012–2013) and Istanbul Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital (2013–2017).

In addition to being a member of numerous national and international urology associations, Dr. Serefoglu is actively involved in various committees, including those of the European Society for Sexual Health (ESSM), the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), the Young Academic Urology Working Group, and the European Association of Urology's Male Sexual Dysfunction Guideline Committee (EAU). 
In 2012, Dr. Serefoglu received the Amsterdam Young Scientist Award for his work, and in 2018, he received the European Society for Sexual Medicine Award of Excellence honor. Additionally, he is the General Secretary of the Sexual Health Department of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). In 2019, Dr. Serefoglu was bestowed the title of Professor for his scientific work at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Urology and Medipol University Department of Histology & Embryology.
