Prof. Abut Kebudi M.D - Thyroid Specialist in Istanbul Turkey

In 1981, Dr. Abut Kebudi, a thyroid specialist in Istanbul Turkey, earned a medical degree from the Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University. It was in 1988 that he finished his speciality in the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul University, Istanbul Medical Faculty. As a result, he became a specialist in General Surgery. After that, he was employed at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital as a General Surgeon. From 1990 to 1992, he served as a Medical Lieutenant in Çorlu Military Hospital, where he finished his military service.

While at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1992, he focused on Laparoscopic Surgery and Oncological Surgery (particularly breast cancer). After finishing his residency, Dr. Abut Kebudi, a top general surgeon in Istanbul Turkey, continued his training in general surgery with a specialization in laparoscopic and breast procedures at the Istanbul Medical Faculty. On top of that, he became certified in the area of surgical gastroenterology endoscopy after attending training courses in the subject.

Dr. Abut Kebudi rose through the ranks of the general surgery department, becoming an associate professor in 1998 and a professor in 2004. Additionally, he is certified as a specialist in surgical oncology, and is one of the skilled doctors who deal with thyroid problems. He is a certified oncoplastic breast surgeon with credentials from the European Breast Center (Düsseldorf) and the European Board of Surgery. 

His administrative experience includes roles as chair of the Department of General Surgery, head of the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences, faculty board member, deputy dean, and president of the health law centre (SAHUMER) during his tenure as a professor at Maltepe University Medical Faculty from 2004 to 2016. 

Dr. Abut Kebudi, a top gallbladder surgeon in Turkey, specializes in surgical oncology, general surgery, breast surgery, endocrine surgery, and more. Roughly 250 of his scientific articles have appeared in peer-reviewed publications both at home and abroad, and he has also spoken at several scientific conferences. 

In addition to being a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), he is also a member of the following groups: The Endocrine Surgery Association, the Surgical Oncology Association, the Turkish Surgical Association, the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery, the Istanbul Breast Diseases Association, the Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Association, the National Trauma and Emergency Surgery Association, and EURAMA (European Asian Society for Breast Disease).
 
The Marmara Anatolian Side Breast Diseases Continuous Education Meetings (MAYMET) platform, of which Dr. Abut Kebudi is a founding member, collaborates with the European Society of Oncology (ESO) to organize yearly scientific breast cancer conferences and monthly regional meetings. Additionally, he oversees research on breast diseases and surgeries on a national and worldwide scale as a founding member and vice president of SENATÜRK (The Senology Academy of Turkey). 

The International Reconstructive Breast Surgery (IREBS) course, which has professors from across the world, is something he's involved with as a board member and scientific committee member. As one of the famous general surgeons in Turkey, Dr. Kebudi has spoken at scientific conferences and published over 250 scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals.
